METALLURGY

About the Department

The department of Metallurgy engineering of Government Polytechnic Rajot, which started in the year of 2009. It is located in the golden corridor of the Metal City named Rajkot. Many Foundries and Heat treatment Companies are present nereby and in the city.Under this fortunate setting, the department continues its journey towards excellence and quest for quality education and research.

Metallurgy, the science of metals, is one of the materials sciences Metallurgical Engineering deals with the ways of processing metals and converting them into useful products. Metallurgical engineers a subspecialityof materials engineers, work primarily in industrial areas, particularly in the production of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, Foundries, Heat treatment of metals and alloys, Quality and Control department, Non-Destructive Testing of finished products, Failure analysis, Corrosion enginnering and in the field of R&D of metals and materials.

VISION

To produce skilled human resources by providing quality education who can contribute ethically to the needs of metallurgical industries and socio-economic development of society.

MISSION

  • To provide quality education by adopting traditional as well as modern teaching-learning methods to develop successful careers.
