CIVIL ENGG

[*NBA Accredited Program]

The Department of Civil Engineering of this Institute started in 1964 with the inception of this polytechnic with an intake capacity of 30 students which has been increased to 180. Present revised intake is 120 from 2020-21. The department has its own Hydraulic, P.H.E. and Transportation Laboratory along with well-equipped Survey Store. The Department has twelve faculties out of them eight faculties are having post graduate qualification.

The Department looks after the following activities of the Institute:
  • Maintenance of the Campus and Staff Quarters in liaison with P.W.D.

VISION:

To prepare competent Diploma civil engineers having adequate technical knowledge and skills as per need of construction industries and for pursuing higher studies.

MISSION:
  • Implement effective teaching learning process.
  • Impart instructions and practical experience to create skilled pass outs in conducive learning environment.
  • Develop leadership and managerial quality with good communication skill.
  • Develop ability to deal with environmental issues and societal needs with emphasis on professional ethics.
PEO’s:
After completion of programme, Diploma Civil engineers will:

1. Apply technical expertise to solve engineering problems with modern engineering tools, lifelong learning and make successful career in construction and allied industries.
2. Exhibit professional ethics and moral values with capability of working as an individual and as a team member and become consultant or entrepreneur in construction industries.
3. Pursue higher education, research and development based on their strong skill on theoretical and practical foundation.
