Chemical engineering course was introduced to this polytechnic in the year 1988 with initial intake of 30 students per year. Due to continuous progressive approach the intake was raised to 60 students per year in 1998. The intake was further raised to 180 students per year in 2009. Present intake is 180. The course contents are designed and elaborated to meet the present requirements of the industries. Also through industries institute interaction cell the suggestions and modification are incorporated as and when require in curriculum.
As a part of curriculum a student has to carryout project work in last semester which enables a student to learn how to apply theory to solve the real industrial problems.
The expert faculties of the department are always keen to update the students technically and provide them carrier guidance and counselling.

Demonstrates chemical engineering competence: Our diploma engineers will demonstrate the foundation and depth for successful chemical engineering careers in industry and establish themselves as professionals through increased responsibilities beyond their original entry level position.

Applies engineering and science to solve technical problems: Shows proficiency in the application of mathematics, chemistry, and physical science, and engineering fundamentals in the presence of practical constraints to solve real-world technical problems.
