MECHANICAL ENGG
Good economy of a country leads to better future and it relies largely on total productivity, which is highly dependent on mechanical engineers. After establishment of Government Polytechnic in 1964. Mechanical Engineering Department comes in to existence in 1966, with initial intake of 30 students per year with semester system. Looking to the present requirement of the diploma engineers institute has increased the intake capacity to 240 student per year in the regular diploma stream. Present revised intake is 210 from 2020-21.
In Mechanical Engineering Department we have highly qualified and well experienced faculties having academic and industrial experience. Total strength of faculties is 23. Out of which 19 faculties have got post graduation in the fields of CAD/CAM, Cryogenics, Thermal science and Production engineering. Two of them have accomplished their PhD studies.
The departments is well equipped with laboratories like Metrology and Instrumentation, Industrial Engineering, Production Technology, Material Technology, Machine Design, Refrigeration & Air-conditioning and to meet the demands of well-trained and professionally sound mechanical engineers. We also have a well-equipped workshop for subjects like Manufacturing processes, Machine tool technology and Tool Engineering, Among the highly precise machines we have CNC Trainer, I.C. engine test rig.
Industrial tours are arranged by the department to boost up exposure to the students for application of their theoretical knowledge and practical approach.
